Quite a coarse cut and I've found big lumps of something in the mix. Some of these don't burn, either. Some will 'unwrap', some won't. The big black lumps definitely won't, so best discard those.
I had a 50g pouch of this blend and could use it straight away with no drying out. Amazing waft of something sweet and flavourful, but with a firm base of virginia underneath.
Reminds me of a stronger version of Davidoff's blue or maybe a MacBaren's seven seas, but a bit classier. It's an excellent mix and burns slowly and evenly. The flavour remains throughout the smoke, BUT smoking half a bowl and coming back to it does not work.
Otherwise it could be just any old tobacco moudering in a pipe. The taste as I said, has a classy overtone to it, one which probably pushes it above the ruck of other aromatics of which there are many. Berries, I'd say, mixed with a touch of honey. Not so sure about pistaccio nectar and chocolate, but then, as I always say in my defence, my taste buds are irreperably damaged.
It holds its taste as you progress through the pouch I actually decanted it into a jar and retains its moisture well. It does start to lose it's flavour towards the end though. Not a murmor from Mrs RW, which I have to say, surprised me. But there it is, maybe she's smelt so many blends at the hands of RW maybe she is immune now.
A Highly rated aromatic then, just nudging above the others in the field for various reasons.
I think a full 4 stars is pushing it a bit though.They are filled with references to drunken promiscuous parties and questionable behavior from an accuser that can barely remember the events threatening the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice.
